Review

''Malevolence'' carves up body after body in a ritual homage to the serial-killer genre. Stevan's Mena first mocie, delights in some tricks which have been seen before, but his passion for blood spilling scenes makes you get in to the play.

Julian (played by Brandon Johnson) is desperate for money, and his girlfriend drags him into steeling. The heist goes haywire and the robbers go to a safe house which is exactly the opposite. Inside there's an abducted mom (played by Samantha Dark) which by the way is single and has has gone from watching her daughter's League game to screaming under the duct tape. A serial killer is out on the loose and relentlessly startles these victims.

If this blood floating  film weren't so fittingly malevolent, it could inspire a drinking game, with contestants spotting the many stock gasp-inducers.

Mena has left indications of a sequel, by placing the relieved victim breathing with happiness again not knowing that the “undead” serial killer is standing behind him.

Cries for help that cannot be heard and phone lines stretch overhead are basic characteristics of the movie combined with spooky outbuildings “ghost town style” along with a deadly silence.

Some say its pure terror, some other say different. All I can say is that Malevolence is a worth seeing movie which approaches terror in a very good way making viewers want to turn on all of their lamps and thinking twice before going to sleep alone.
